The plan to help improve the customers experience with the Xbox platform is to build new server farms to handle a larger amount of traffic flow. The above diagram show some of the plan elements and risk involved in making new server farms such as building issues and software problems. The Property issues is one that if the plot of land or building is not big enough to support the equipment that is going in then we have a problem. The key to this issue is to plan how much equipment is going in and the measurements that it will be for the final building. This must all be done before the scouting for a site can happen since if you look for a site with out the proper measurements you may run into issues further on.
The software is a major concern since it runs the servers and is what the customer interacts with on a daily basis. The software needs to be tested first in a lab to rule out such issues like out dated operating systems and programs that may not work on the newer systems. The key to this is the testing of these programs and the implementation to the customer before official launch.
